Fatorda is set to host the finals of the Hero Indian Super League on 20th March 2022 on Friday. Two-time finalists Kerala Blasters will square off against a youthful Hyderabad FC who has qualified into the finals for the first time. This is the third time that Blasters have been in this position, bottling it twice in 2014 and 2016.
Things are much different this season though, with Kerala playing a completely different brand of football under their Serbian coach, Ivan Vukomanovic who has moulded this team to trouble the opposition by pressing high up the pitch flaunting their aggressive football. The team for Kerala also has the best defensive record in the league, conceding the least number of goals and holding on to the most number of clean sheets throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC, on the other end is contrastingly known for their fiery attacking display through their wings. The club amassed a whopping 43 goals from 22 games making it the top-scoring club of the season. Veteran striker Bartholomew Ogbeche assisted to their tally by amassing 18 goals from 19 matches making him the league's golden boot winning striker at the moment.
With the franchise's decision for allowing fans to the stadium, for the first time this season, Fatorda is set to flare up in yellow as the league's best offensive team goes loggerheads with the league's best defensive team.
