ISL semifinals; Sahal's goal seperates both the sides as gritty Kerala beat Jamshedpur in the first leg of the semi finals

The first semi final clash of the Indian Super League came down to the wire as gritty Kerala edged over the league winners by a solitary goal at PJN stadium in Fatorda.

For Kerala, Kerala’s own son, Sahal Abdul samad(38)’s clinical lob over TP Rehenesh was enough to separate the two teams . Jamshedpur attackers on the other end paid the price for not putting away their share of chances.

Both the sides made their intentions clear with Jamshedpur edging over the other with their high intensity press, constantly put Blasters under their nerves. As a result of this, Daniel Chima Chuckwu found himself in the inside of the box with the ball at his foot at several occasions, but failed to convert it. An unforced substitution of Len Doungal in the 25th minute proved as blow for the Red Miners.

Jamshedpur’s misses proved costly when Sahal Abdul Samad found the back of the net to bring Kerala to the driving seat. Alvaro Vazquez dropped into the attacking third to deliver an almost perfect ball over the Jamshedpur wall which found Sahal and he lobed one over the golden glove holding goalkeeper TP Rehenesh as he watched it sail over his head into the back of the net, 1-0

Interestingly, the first shot on target for Kerala separated both the sides at the end of the day.
