Kerala Blasters and Fc goa shares equal points after an emphatic stalemate at bambolim

Indian Super League Outfit Kerala Blasters locked Horns with FC Goa this Sunday at Bambolim, on what appeared to be an emphatic display of attacking football. Although the result couldn’t help the side from Goa finish higher up the table, they were able to end their season with a positive note.

The Blasters dominated the first half constantly troubling the Goan defence pressing high with their high backline, as a result of which, their Argentine striker Jorge Pereira Diaz (10,25) opened the scoring for the blasters with a tap in albeit a cross from Sahal Abdul Samad from the right wing after he won the ball from Anwar Ali. Pereira quickly doubled their lead by converting a penalty which was awarded for the blasters after Chencho Gyltshen was dragged down in the box by FC Goa goalkeeper Hrithik tiwari. The first half went on rather uneventfully for Goa, but blasters continued their attack relentlessly, meanwhile, Diaz narrowly missed out on his hat-trick.

The 3 changes made by Goa in the second half brought a considerable influence on the game. Airam Cabrera (49,62) who came on from the bench equalized for Goa with his brace. Cabrera would go on to net another one in the 82nd minute to extend the FC Goa lead after a stupendous right footed finesse from Aiban Dohling which brought Goa into the lead. A 4-2 lead in the 82nd minute was promising a win for Goa but two quick fire goals from Vincy Barreto (88) and Alvaro Vazquez(90) brought blasters their equalizer. Vincy’s excellent run from the left wing was met with through ball from Chencho Gyltshen which ended with a cool left footed finish. 2 minutes later, Prashant’s lay off to Alvaro and the latter’s beautiful grounder was enough to give blasters the equalizer.
