Indian Super League outfit Kerala Blasters has signed a 3-year contract extension with their promising Indian midfielder Jeakson Singh Thounaojam. The 20-year-old Indian international is considered one of the most promising talents in the country. Jeakson came into the limelight when he scored against Columbia in the FIFA U17 world cup held in India, making him India's only goal in a FIFA competition. His subsequent success in the Indian Arrows led to him being scouted by Kerala Blasters, where he debuted in the Indian Super League under Eelco Schattori when he was just 18 years old. Since then, Jeakson has made become an integral part of the club, with his Positioning, passing, and goal-scoring abilities during the set-pieces. Apart from his defensive contributions, Jeakson notched up a goal and 2 assists and has been an integral part of the club on its road to the finals.
